When choosing wood to work with, rift sawn cuts are ideal because the have the strongest grain. As I made this logo I wanted to incorporate 45° angles (the most optimum rift sawn angle) and the circular shape of a tree stump. I also wanted to make sure I brought in the wood grain texture w/o it being too overt or tacky.
